Lady Bugs Layouts

I tried to add Lady bugs layout today. I had trouble so I though that I would try again.

Sweet Pea (Amy Braswell)

Let me introduce you to a brand new scrapper. Amy Braswell now known to all the chicks as Sweet Pea. Sweet Pea is 42 years old. She is happily married to a great guy (Tim Braswell.) Sweet Pea is a loving mother to a 22 year old son and two wonderful step children ages 9 and 12. She works for a local seed company in the accounting department. Sweet Pea came to her first meet with the chicks this month. She came in with a kit that someone had given her two years before for Christmas. Still in the wrapper. We showed her a few things and she took off. She show me the first layout and I was so please. I said man and you even wrote a little journal. She looked at me with those big eyes and said well you told me to. Now that is a good student. LOL! Sweet Peas first page was awesome. I think that she had a great time. She said that she really appreciated all the chicks that were there. She said that is was so nice for the chicks to chip in and help her learn and allowed her to use their tools, materials and ideas. Now isn't that what it is all about. She said that she could not wait until our next meeting.

Hello Friends; Today I wanted to introduce a couple of the Country Croppin Chicks.
Let me introduce LADY BUG (Shiela Powers). LADY BUG has brought so much to our little group with her winning smile and her many talented skills. Lady bug is 39 years old. The Country Cropping Chicks had a great all day crop. From 9:00 am until 5:00 PM we had a cutting, gluing, giggling, good time. We had eight in attendance. WOW. Lets see there was Ladybug, Cowgirl, Kathy (needs a chick name),Sweet Cheeks, Honey, Sweet Pea, Bayou Babe and Sugah. Missing in action was Cutie Pie, Sweet Tatter, and Magnolia. Missed you guy's. There was lots of talk about the Spring Fling that we are going to be having next month. Once again because this is a party we are going to be meeting on the second Saturday of the month in April. Cowgirl is doing a great job at putting the Spring Fling together. Thanks Cowgirl from the Chicks for all your hard work. I can't wait to see what all you have planned for the Chicks. Another thing on the Chicks mind is the Scrap-N-on the River convention coming in July. We are so excited, at this time there is twelve Chicks registered for the convention. Can't wait to see all you chicks in April.

Renewing Cricut Cutting Mats

Thursday, February 19, 2009

Just had to share this with you all. Cathy Dore' had some great information she share on her blog. For all of you that have a cricut listen up. Don't throw away your old cutting mats. Cathy writes....

Thursday, February 19, 2009Renewing Cricut Cutting MatsI discovered a little trick on my own a couple of nights ago. I have really been using my Cricut ALOT, and of course it's just not as sticky as when I first got it. I ran it under cold water (afraid that hot water would melt the adhesive away) and used a soft toothbrush to pass on top of the sticky film to remove all the paper fibers. You see, it's the remnants of those little paper fibers that get left behind when you remove the paper from the mat that leaves the mat less sticky. After I finished brushing over the mat while under the cold water, I put the mat on a coat hanger (the little hole in the mat fits perfectly over the top of the coat hanger). I hung it to dry, and it was like new again. I've heard of others reapplying an adhesive, but I didn't find a need for it. Once all those little paper fibers were washed away, it was like new again. I hope this helps renew the life of your cutting mats!

Leah and Chelsea love to craft with Mamaw. I have to say that Mamaw loves it too.The girls made their dads, fathers day cards last year.I think they try it all. Oh and they love the cricket. Along with their imagination and help of the cricket they did a super job.It is wonderful to hear the conversation as they work. Oh and they know all the scrapbook terms. LOL They chalked ,inked, cut, glued, matted and giggled. They discovered glue dots and foam glue squares. Times like these will be cherished forever.

Valentine Boxes

At last a new up date. I've been busy making birthday and valentine cards. The last couple day's I've been busy making candy boxes for our Feb. chick meeting. Thanks to paperpiecingpatty for giving me the directions. I made three different sizes. Three were made with 6x6 card stock. (made for our little biddies that sometimes make a crop) All of the chicks well be receiving the ones that I made from 9x9 card stock. I made one from 12 x 12 card stock for a door prize. Directions: Cut card stock 9" X 9". Fold and score at 3" and again at 6". It should look like three equal columns.Turn paper fold and score again at 3"and again at 6". Now you should have 9 equal squares. Fold each corner in half from point to point. While you have the corner folded in half go ahead and punch a hole just below point, for lacing you ribbon. Fold all four corner toward the center. Lace your ribbon through and tie. You now have a box. Embellish the four side. I used stamps, stickers, brads, printed paper& inked the edges etc. Anythings goes! Have fun ! SUGAH
